Competitive Salary + Equity (Depending on experience)

We are looking for a talented Full Stack developer with a passion for gaming/esports who is seeking a new, exciting opportunity to tackle real health problems on a global scale.

About Gscience

Gscience is a leading esports performance company offering high performance coaching and analytics platforms that optimise athlete health and unlock gaming potential.

Working with leading esports teams across the world, we utilise our collective expertise in traditional sports, esports and science to redefine the limits of esports performance.

By encouraging positive behavioural change through our evidence based methods, we achieve our goal of reducing the levels of poor mental health and physical inactivity across the industry.

About The Role

Why this role?

  1. Become a fundamental player in esports health and performance
  2. Build a groundbreaking athlete monitoring platform for gamers
  3. Help us dominate the field by tackling health problems in esports players

What do we mean by Product Engineer?

Good question. We are on a mission to find a kickass Full stack developer who is ready to get hands-on and overcome our technical challenges when building our Athlete monitoring platform. Your input will help determine the direction of the product and ultimately, the success of the company.

There is lots to do - so you certainly won’t be bored. You might find yourself diving deep into Game APIs, building technical solutions to enhance user experience or tinkering with our scientific algorithms to provide stronger insights.

Am I dropping in solo?

Yes, you will be the technical arm of the team. But don’t worry, we will provide a parachute - so you can expect a softer landing. We don’t expect you to know everything, but we put our trust in you to learn new things and maybe have Stack Overflow bookmarked, just in case. Eventually, our technical team will expand beyond duos, trios and quads where you will be a vital leader of the pack.

About you

Whether you have a CS Degree, or you’re completely self taught - we care about what you can do now, and how quickly you can learn new things. Whether you consider yourself an expert or not, this is an opportunity to learn and challenge yourself to achieve more.

We’d hope you have honed your skills in front-end, back-end and infrastructure development demonstrated through previous work, hobby projects, open-source contributions, or notable academic experience.

If you are looking to work on a meaningful project that has a positive impact on people's lives, in addition to combining your passion for gaming and code, this is the role for you.

Sounds good? Then we only have one more question for you. “Where are we dropping?”

Next Steps

Send us an email to jobs@gscience.io with a short paragraph about yourself and anything that might help us learn more about you - such as:

  • CV
  • LinkedIn Profile
  • Github page
  • Link to something you’ve built
  • Case study of a project you’ve worked on
  • Something else (Desk setup? Gaming Montage?)

If you feel like you fit the role, let’s ready up and do this. The selection process will consist of an initial video call, followed by a technical conversation and demonstration.

Stay ahead of the game. Work with Gscience.

FAQs

Are you open to part time applications?

This is a full time position, but please keep an eye out for potential new roles in the future.

What’s your technical stack?

The platform front-end is developed using React and the back-end is powered by a mixture of Python/Ruby on Rails and AWS. Data science algorithms will also be powered by Python. Previous experience with these technologies is a big plus, but we’re looking for someone with broad experience who sees languages and frameworks as potential solutions to a problem.

What are some of the benefits of working with Gscience?

We pride ourselves on providing a healthy, productive and fun working environment for all. Some of the benefits you can expect from us are:

  • Remote working
  • Flexible working hours
  • Personalised Health & Performance plan
  • Wellness day (Need to recharge? We’ve got your back)
  • Team building events & adventures
  • Weekly/Monthly game nights & watch parties

Know someone who would fit this role? We are putting up a £250 bounty for anyone who refers a successful candidate.

You will have the freedom to implement your ideas and will be recognised and rewarded for your achievements. Gscience is committed to equal opportunity and does not discriminate on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, disability, or race.
